What is Ready, Set, QUIT?

Ready Set Quit Tobacco (RSQT) is a non-profit organization which began meeting in 2008 to reduce nicotine addiction through education and outreach. We are supported by the Community Foundation of Morgan County, Inc., the Kendrick Foundation, Inc. (www.cfmconline.org), and the Indiana State Department of Health-Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Commission (http://in.gov/isdh/tpc).  In the last 10 years, we have witnessed many successes, including reducing Morgan County’s adult smoking rate from 29.8% in 2008, to 17% in March 2017.

We set the example as a coalition of concerned citizens, community leaders and organizations, and businesses that seek the overall improvement of our community through a handful of different tools.

None of our success would be possible without the generous support of the Community Foundation of Morgan County, Inc., the Kendrick Foundation, Inc., and the Indiana State Department of Health-Tobacco Prevention & Cessation Commission.

With their support, we have made great strides and look forward to a brighter future for Morgan County
residents.

How do we promote a smoke free community?

  • Expanding our Reach

    We reach out to populations targeted by the tobacco industry – low income, youth and Veterans – and support the organizations serving them, to increase awareness of the harm tobacco causes;

  • Educating our Community

    We educate our community and raise awareness about the benefits of tobacco free policies, providing decision makers and community leaders with leading-edge tobacco information and opportunities to help ideas grow and expand.

  • Cultivating our Partnerships

    We develop collaborations through community partnerships to accomplish these goals, collectively making a difference in the lives of our neighbors.
